Netflix Outage Leaves Thousands Facing ‘Title Not Available’ Error

Users in the United States have reported that Netflix is down, with error messages popping up and social media flooded with complaints.

May 30, 2025: Streaming giant Netflix is currently down for thousands of users across the United States, with many encountering an error message stating, “title not available to watch instantly.”

According to outage-tracking site DownDetector, more than 75,000 reports of issues had been logged as of 9:40 p.m. EDT on Thursday.

What Users Are Saying
Frustrated users flooded social media and DownDetector with complaints about the sudden outage.

One user posted, “Getting an error message ‘This title is not available to watch instantly. Please try another title.’ This happens when selecting anything to watch.”

Another lamented, “Netflix just crashed and burned in me watching anime…wth. Won’t work on any device.”

A third user wrote, “I’m getting ‘This title is not available to watch instantly’ for anything I play on all my devices.”

What Does The Error Mean?
According to Netflix’s help page, the “Sorry, this title cannot be watched instantly at this time” error usually indicates a problem with data stored on the device that prevents Netflix from playing content.

Social Media Reactions
On social media platform X (formerly Twitter), users expressed their annoyance at the outage.

“Netflix being down is very annoying for me personally,” one user wrote.
Another said, “is Netflix down or something. I’ll lose my mind if I’m not distracted back in two seconds.”
A third posted, “Netflix going down at the very end of my show is extremely rude.”

One more user shared, “Is Netflix down? I took a break from rewatching The Walking Dead earlier and I come back to this error? I want to watch my shows!!”

Netflix’s Response
Netflix has not yet issued an official response to the outage reports.
