March 11, 2025: Sony Pictures has revealed a new release date for its highly anticipated romance drama A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, starring Margot Robbie and Colin Farrell. Originally set for release on May 9, the film will now hit theaters on September 19, avoiding competition with Disney/Marvel’s Thunderbolts, scheduled for release on May 2.
Directed by Kogonada and written by Seth Reiss, A Big Bold Beautiful Journey follows the imaginative story of two strangers and their incredible journey together. The film also features a talented supporting cast, including Lily Rabe, Jodie Turner-Smith, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Hamish Linklater.
With the new release date, the film will now face competition from Universal’s Him and 20th Century Studios’ Ella McCay. Produced by Imperative Entertainment and 30WEST, and financed by 30WEST, the film is produced by Bradley Thomas, Ryan Friedkin, Seth Reiss, and Youree Henley, with Kogonada, Ilene Feldman, and Ori Eisen serving as executive producers.
A trailer for the film is expected to debut at CinemaCon during Sony’s presentation in two weeks.
