New Scenes of Prabhas in Old Look Added to The Raja Saab After Fan Criticism, Makers Cite ‘Server Issue’
Maruthi’s The Raja Saab, starring Prabhas, faced criticism from fans after its release on Friday, with many pointing out that some scenes shown in the trailer were missing from the film. In response, the makers announced on Saturday that new scenes featuring Prabhas in his older look have been added to the movie.
Director Maruthi explained at a Hyderabad press conference that fans were eager to see Prabhas in his old avatar with attitude and swag, as teased in the trailer. “Many viewers asked about these scenes, so I worked last evening to make the second half sharper and include the missing portions starting from the 6 PM show today. Fans will definitely enjoy this 8-9 minute addition, including a never-before-seen rooftop fight sequence,” he said.
Producer TG Vishwa Prasad added that a 4-minute segment featuring Prabhas’ old look had been delayed due to a server issue and required cleanup before being sent to theatres. “The runtime of the film remains unchanged; we trimmed part of the credits to accommodate the new content,” he noted.
Addressing the mixed response to the film, Vishwa stated that despite some criticism, The Raja Saab has earned ₹112 crore, exceeding expectations. Maruthi echoed his sentiment, urging viewers not to prejudge the film. He also apologized for delays in screenings in Telangana, particularly at Vimal Theatre, where fans reportedly stormed the venue.
