Nora Fatehi-Sanjay Dutt song faces backlash over ‘vulgar’ lyrics and visuals
March 17, 2026: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to the makers of the Hindi song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke from the Kannada film KD: The Devil. Featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, the track has sparked widespread criticism over its alleged double-meaning lyrics and suggestive choreography, with many viewers calling it vulgar and inappropriate.
Advocate Vineet Jindal has filed a complaint with the Cyber Cell of the Delhi Police against Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Dutt, lyricist Raqeeb Alam, and director Prem. The complaint seeks an FIR under Section 294 of BNS and relevant provisions of the IT Act, alleging that the song promotes obscenity and is freely accessible online, including to minors. It also demands the removal of the track from social media platforms.
The controversy has drawn reactions from within the industry as well. Singer Armaan Malik criticised the song, calling it a “new low” for songwriting, while Rajya Sabha MP and former cricketer Harbhajan Singh questioned the artists’ decision to be associated with it.
