Nicola Coughlan Recreates Iconic Vanderpump Rules Moment at SUR Restaurant
Washington [US], December 22: Nicola Coughlan, widely known for her role as Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton, recently delighted fans by recreating an iconic moment from Vanderpump Rules at the legendary SUR restaurant.
A self-proclaimed Vanderpump Rules superfan, Coughlan shared a series of playful photos on Instagram, mimicking one of the show’s infamous back-alley confrontations.
In the Instagram stories, Nicola Coughlan, dressed in a stylish black dress and green coat, can be seen striking a dramatic pose with her hands raised, appearing to reenact a heated argument. Her friend, Rebecca Lowman, played along, delivering an equally theatrical scolding.
While the photos were shared recently, the visit to SUR, owned by reality star Lisa Vanderpump, actually happened earlier this year. The restaurant’s official social media even posted a tribute, saying:
“We are all big fans of your work, Nicola. The SUR Family thanks you for dining with us. Nicola is a Queen.”
In an interview, Coughlan revealed that Vanderpump Rules became her “emotional support show” during the demanding filming schedules of Bridgerton and Big Mood.
“Learning the Bridgerton dialogue is not easy because it’s very stylized. Then Big Mood was incredibly colloquial. My brain was fried,” she explained.
After long days on set, only Vanderpump Rules provided the mental escape she needed:
“There were 10 seasons, and I knew there was this huge scandal at the end. It was the perfect reality show. It’s great.”
The reality show has been undergoing significant changes after the explosive Tom Sandoval-Raquel Leviss cheating scandal in season 10. With season 11 wrapped, Bravo has announced an entirely new cast for the upcoming season.
Show creator Lisa Vanderpump reassured fans about the show’s fresh direction:
“I think everything we do is going to have a different energy. We’re not trying to compete with the old Vanderpump Rules. It’s going to be something entirely new.”
While acknowledging the wonderful journey with the original cast, Lisa added:
“Stories were closing up, and it felt like the right time for change.”
Nicola Coughlan’s lighthearted tribute at SUR reflects her genuine love for Vanderpump Rules and her ability to find joy and humor amid a hectic filming schedule.
