July 3, 2025: The emotionally charged season 2 finale of Nine Perfect Strangers left fans with more than just closure — it sparked buzz about a possible third season and delivered an unforgettable twist: a dramatic final scene in a real McDonald’s near Berlin.

Set against the majestic backdrop of the Austrian Alps, the Hulu series wrapped up its second season with deeply personal revelations, unconventional therapy sessions, and stunning character arcs. Nicole Kidman, returning as the mysterious wellness guru Masha Dmitrichenko, and Mark Strong, portraying billionaire arms dealer David Sharpe, explored themes of trauma, healing, and redemption — all with a psychedelic twist.

Key character developments included Tina rediscovering her love for piano, Brian letting go of his puppet persona, and Victoria and Imogen mending their broken bond. But it was Masha’s shocking confession to David — that her late daughter Tatiana was his — that sent emotional shockwaves through the finale.

In a powerful act of closure, Masha exposes David’s hypocrisy using an AI-generated video of him confessing to exiting the weapons trade, sealing his fate in a McDonald’s — a surreal but symbolically fitting setting for the end of a high-stakes journey.“We were actually there,” Kidman confirmed, about the real McDonald’s shoot just outside Berlin.
“It’s a strange location in the middle of nowhere,” added Strong, “but apparently a very successful McDonald’s.”

The duo also recalled the freezing ice plunge scene, which was partly filmed in the Alps and partly recreated on a soundstage — with Kidman walking barefoot through snow to make the experience feel authentic.“We would have died if we did the whole plunge,” she laughed.

Kidman shared that Masha’s journey is one of transformation, not revenge. “Her heart is in the right place… she wants people to grow emotionally.” Strong reflected on his character’s arc, saying, “David starts off arrogant and ends up deeply reflective, especially about his son and Masha.”

Their on-screen chemistry, built from their previous work in Before I Go to Sleep (2014), made intense scenes flow naturally.

So, will there be a Season 3?
nicole Kidman remains non-committal, saying she’s focused on the present. Strong, however, is all in:“Maybe Costa Rica or the jungle next?” he teased.

If Hulu gives the green light, fans might soon be packing their bags for another strange, surreal healing retreat — maybe this time with monkeys.
