February 18, 2025: Nita Ambani, Founder-Chairperson of the Reliance Foundation, recently delivered an inspiring keynote address at the Harvard India Conference 2025, reflecting on India’s growing global influence in various sectors, including education, sports, culture, philanthropy, and technology. In a heartfelt conversation with Nitin Nohria, former Dean of Harvard Business School, Nita shared her journey and highlighted the transformative changes happening in India.
Addressing a room full of young leaders and changemakers, Nita urged the next generation to dream big, lead with purpose, and shape India’s future on the world stage. Throughout the session, Nita’s deep passion for her country’s progress was evident, as she underscored the importance of innovation and leadership in creating global impact.
Nita’s presence at the prestigious event was made even more special by her sartorial choice. She wore a Parsi Gara saree, a tribute to India’s rich textile heritage, symbolizing the nation’s culture while speaking about its increasing influence on the global map.
In an emotional moment during the session, Nita shared a personal story about her mother. She recalled how, despite wanting to attend Harvard, financial constraints had prevented her family from sending her there. However, as Nita stood on the Harvard stage to deliver the keynote address, her mother expressed immense pride, stating, “Today, they have called her to speak at Harvard.” Nita expressed her gratitude, thanking everyone for making her mother so happy.
The event further solidified Nita Ambani’s legacy as a leading force in driving India’s progress and inspiring others to believe in the power of perseverance and vision.
Nita is married to Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of Reliance Industries, and they share three children—Akash, Isha, and Anant.
