Nita Ambani’s ‘Dashavatar’ Tribute at Anant-Radhika Wedding

Reliance Foundation Founder and Chairperson Nita Ambani presented ‘Dashavatar,’ a captivating audio-visual experience depicting the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu. This spectacular exploration of Hindu tradition was inspired by the holy city of Kashi and curated for the wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

Nita Ambani explained the significance of ‘Dashavatar,’ saying, “Since time immemorial, the ten incarnations of Bhagawan Vishnu, known as the Dashavtar, have caught the imagination of Hindus and scholars of Indian civilization. Hindus believe that whenever the world is threatened by evil or negative forces, Bhagawan Vishnu descends on earth in some form, avatar, and restores dharma and the cosmic order.”

The performance, showcased at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, aims to embody the richness of Hindu culture and extend the spirit of inclusivity. Nita Ambani added, “I conceptualized Dashavatar as a tribute to India’s spiritual heritage as part of Anant and Radhika’s wedding. I invite people from Mumbai and all over India to come and enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience.”

The wedding of Anant Ambani, youngest son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, daughter of industrialist Viren Merchant, was a lavish affair attended by prominent figures from business, politics, and entertainment. The event took place on July 12, followed by the Shubh Aashirvaad ceremony on July 13 and a grand reception on July 14. A special reception for the media and Reliance employees was hosted on July 15.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi graced the Shubh Aashirvaad ceremony, blessing the newlyweds. Other notable attendees included former President Ram Nath Kovind, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, among others.

The star-studded guest list featured Bollywood luminaries such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, and Ranveer Singh. International celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Boris Johnson, John Kerry, and Mike Tyson also attended the festivities.

Radhika Merchant captivated everyone with her style, donning a traditional ivory and red lehenga by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla for her vidaai ceremony and a sindoori red ensemble by Manish Malhotra for the Shubh Aashirvaad ceremony. Her regal appearance was enhanced by heirloom jewellery passed down through generations.

The Ambani family’s celebrations continued with the ‘Mangal Utsav’ reception on July 14 and the media and employee reception on July 15, making Anant and Radhika’s wedding one of the most memorable events.
