Director Nitesh Tiwari has revealed that his ambitious film Ramayana took nearly seven years to come to life, calling filmmaking a “lonely and speculative process.” His remarks came during the launch of the film’s first teaser, which introduces Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama.

Speaking at the event, Tiwari shared that he had been imagining audience reactions throughout the long journey of making the film. He admitted that filmmaking can feel isolating, as creators invest years without knowing how audiences will respond.
