Noah Schnapp Teases Heartbreaking ‘Stranger Things’ Finale: “Not a Dry Eye”
Washington D.C., April 24:
As Netflix’s blockbuster series Stranger Things nears its highly anticipated end with Season 5, actor Noah Schnapp has offered a sobering glimpse into what’s coming, revealing that the finale will leave fans “truly devastated.”
Speaking at the opening night of Stranger Things: The First Shadow Broadway show in New York, Schnapp — who plays Will Byers — shared his emotional outlook on the final chapter.
“People are going to be truly devastated,” he said to The Hollywood Reporter. “As sad as it was, I’m so excited to see the world’s reaction to watching the finale because there’s not going to be a dry eye. It’s going to be sad.”
Netflix previously confirmed that production on Stranger Things Season 5 officially wrapped in December 2024, with cast members getting visibly emotional during the final shoot. The new season will be set in fall 1987, picking up more than a year after Vecna ripped open a portal to the Upside Down, unleashing chaos on the town of Hawkins.
Since its 2016 debut, Stranger Things has become one of Netflix’s most iconic original shows. The recent Season 4 alone racked up over 140 million views globally, solidifying its legacy as a cultural juggernaut.
Fans can expect Stranger Things Season 5 to premiere later this year on Netflix, promising one final trip to Hawkins — and possibly, one last heartbreak.
