Fresh off the success of her chart-topping single “Snake” with Jason Derulo, which dominated the BBC Asian Music charts, Nora walked the AMA red carpet in a bold black halter dress adorned with silver sequins, complete with a daring cutout that had fashion critics and fans raving online. With minimal makeup and a sleek hairstyle, she let the outfit — and her rising star power — do all the talking.
Videos from her AMA appearance have since gone viral across social media, with fans hailing her as a “global diva in the making.” This marks a significant moment in Nora’s crossover journey into the international music scene, especially as she partners with rapper King and Anjula Acharia on 5 Junction Records, a joint venture with Warner Music Group aimed at spotlighting South Asian talent for Western audiences.
“It’s hard to take a vision and sell it… But when Anjula starts her pitch, you feel like you’re going to miss out if you’re not paying attention,” Nora told Billboard in a recent interview about the venture.
The trio was recently featured on the cover of Billboard Magazine, signaling a major career shift for Nora as she continues to expand her musical influence beyond Bollywood.
A-List Company & Powerful Performances
The AMAs also paid tribute to legendary icons such as Janet Jackson, who received the Icon Award, and Rod Stewart, who was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Artists like Gloria Estefan, Gwen Stefani, and Blake Shelton delivered memorable performances, while Kendrick Lamar led the night’s nominations with ten, followed by Billie Eilish, SZA, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey.
Other top nominees included Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, and Sabrina Carpenter.
What’s Next for Nora?
Aside from her musical endeavors, Nora Fatehi was recently seen in Netflix’s hit series The Royals, directed by Priyanka Ghose and Nupur Asthana, starring alongside Ishaan Khatter, Bhumi Pednekar, Dino Morea, Zeenat Aman, and Milind Soman.
With a strong foothold in both film and music — and an eye on international expansion — Nora Fatehi is quickly becoming one of the most globally recognized South Asian entertainers today.
