August 13, 2025: Sushmita Sen, a Bollywood actress and former Miss Universe, has talked about how hard it was to run the Miss India Universe franchise from 2010 to 2012. In an interview to promote her show Aarya, she said that Donald Trump’s ownership of the property at the time “didn’t make it easy or fun.”


Sen, who made history in 1994 as the first Indian woman to win the Miss Universe title, said that although though she owned a franchise for Trump, her real bosses were Paramount Communications and Madison Square Garden.

Sen was honest when asked what she thought of Trump. She said that certain people create a lasting impact “just for the people that they are,” but Trump “is not one of them.” She refused to go into further detail about him, stating, “The point is that it doesn’t matter.”

Sushmita Sen’s career has just taken off again because to her praised roles in the online series Aarya and the film Taali, in which she played transgender activist Shreegauri Sawant.
