The pop star opened up about intentionally hurting others and struggling with honesty, triggering renewed concerns about his mental and emotional wellbeing.

May 10, 2025: Los Angeles – In a candid and cryptic Instagram post on Friday, Justin Bieber confessed to being “selfish” and intentionally hurting others, sparking concern among fans and followers already alarmed by his recent behavior.

“I continue to do and say things that hurt others intentionally,” wrote the 31-year-old singer. “Yet I woke up with another opportunity to grow and not be selfish today.”

The post reflects an emotional tone of self-awareness, with Bieber expressing a fear of being “disqualified” from inclusion and love if he reveals his flaws. “I thought if I was honest about the selfish things I was feeling, that I was gonna be disqualified from the dreams I had of being included,” he admitted.

Despite his fears, the Peaches hitmaker concluded that honesty has led to “more freedom.”

Bieber’s Ongoing Struggles

The post follows a string of concerning developments in Bieber’s public life. He was recently seen in Palm Springs and at Coachella, where fans noted erratic behavior, including smoking from a large bong and posting it online.

Although his reps have previously dismissed rumors of substance abuse as “exhausting and pitiful,” the optics — and Bieber’s own posts — continue to draw scrutiny.

“Only God can remove the greed and selfishness from our hearts. Trying harder won’t work. Cuz I tried lol,” he concluded in one post.

Bieber, who became a father to son Jack last summer with wife Hailey Bieber, has been described by insiders as partying excessively, spending irresponsibly, and losing key members of his inner circle.

A source close to the family told Page Six, “At what point does this become Justin’s fault? Yes, he had a tough upbringing in the limelight, but he also had every opportunity and privilege.”

A Cry for Help or a Step Toward Healing?

In another reflective moment, Bieber revealed he has been asking God to help him “see the best in people”, especially after feeling “used.”

He’s also said to be relying on prayer to shift his perspective on days when he wakes up feeling “bad or pessimistic.”

With his marriage under pressure, career in flux, and a young son to raise, fans are left wondering whether these posts are signals of a breakdown—or a breakthrough.
