Old Video of Vivek Oberoi Praising Bishnoi Community Resurfaces

October 15, 2024: Amid the ongoing controversy between Bollywood actor Salman Khan and gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, an old video of actor Vivek Oberoi commending the Bishnoi community has resurfaced on social media. The video, from an event in Dubai in February of last year, is gaining renewed attention in light of the Salman-Lawrence feud.

Vivek Oberoi’s Praises for the Bishnoi Community
In the video, Vivek speaks in Hindi, praising the Bishnoi community’s unique dedication to wildlife protection, stating, “Try looking up the Bishnoi community on Google. You won’t find anything like it in the world. In every household, including mine, we feed cow’s milk to children. But the Bishnoi community is the only one where, if a fawn’s mother dies, the mothers take the fawn into their laps and feed it milk as they would their own children. You won’t find this anywhere else in the world.”

Social media users have been quick to point out the irony of the video resurfacing amid the Salman-Bishnoi controversy. One user remarked, “Dushman Ka Dushman Lawrence Ka Dost (An enemy of my enemy is Lawrence’s friend),” while another commented, “He’s adding fuel to the fire.”

The Salman Khan-Vivek Oberoi Connection
The video is also gaining traction due to Vivek Oberoi’s past strained relationship with Salman Khan. Back in 2003, during a press conference, Vivek accused Salman of threatening him because of his then-relationship with Aishwarya Rai, who had a tumultuous breakup with Salman.

In 2023, Vivek revisited this issue in an interview with Hindustan Times, reflecting on the bullying and lobbying he faced after the press conference. “In hindsight, I went through a lot of stuff that was unnecessary. A lot of lobbies, a lot of repressive stories,” Vivek shared.

The Ongoing Salman Khan-Lawrence Bishnoi Feud
Lawrence Bishnoi’s animosity towards Salman Khan stems from the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, where Salman was involved during the filming of Hum Saath-Saath Hain in Rajasthan. The Bishnoi community, which reveres blackbucks, has held a grudge ever since, with Bishnoi himself openly expressing his desire to seek revenge against Salman.

Recently, the feud made headlines again after the murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was close to Salman. The Mumbai Police suspect that Siddique was killed at the behest of Lawrence Bishnoi, following a Facebook post by suspected Bishnoi gang member Shubham Rameshwar Lonkar, which read, “Whoever helps Salman Khan and the Dawood gang, keep your accounts in order.”

Work Front
On the work front, Vivek Oberoi was recently seen in Rohit Shetty’s cop drama Indian Police Force on Prime Video earlier this year. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently busy shooting for Bigg Boss 18 and his upcoming film Sikandar.
