On Disha Patani’s birthday, ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ makers unveil her character poster

On Disha Patani’s 31st birthday, the makers of her upcoming film ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ unveiled the first look poster of her character Roxie on Thursday.

In the poster, Disha looks ethereal in a saree, standing gracefully beside a tree. She elevates her ethnic look with a red bindi and stunning jewelry. In another look, Disha exudes boldness and power as she leans on a door, dressed in an all-black leather outfit.

The film’s production house, Vyjayanthi Movies, took to Instagram to wish the actor a happy birthday. They captioned the post, “Wishing our Roxie, @dishapatani a very Happy Birthday. #Kalki2898AD.”

On Monday evening, the makers released an intriguing trailer for the film. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this post-apocalyptic film is inspired by Hindu scriptures and is set in the year 2898 AD. The trailer showcases Ashwin’s loose reimagining of the Mahabharat through a futuristic, dystopian lens.

The film also stars Kamal Haasan, adding to the star-studded cast. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has quickly become one of the most talked-about productions of 2024.

Last month, the makers shared a teaser of Amitabh Bachchan’s look from the sci-fi dystopian film during an IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The 21-second teaser features Big B in warm earthy tones, seated in a cave and engaged in prayer to a Shiva linga, covered in bandages. A young child asks Big B, “Kya tum bhagwan ho, kya tum marr nahi sakte? Tum Bhagwan ho? Kaun ho Tum?” To which his character replies, “Dwapar yug se Dash avatar ki pratiksha kar raha hoon main, Dronacharya ka putra Ashwatthama.” (Since the Dwapar Yug, I have waited for the Dasavatar.)

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is slated for release in cinemas on June 27.
