Actress Described Her Chemistry with Kohli in 2019, Stating ‘The World Doesn’t Exist’ When They Are Together

As star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli celebrated his birthday on November 5, his wife, actress Anushka Sharma, had once offered a beautiful insight into their relationship. In a 2019 interview with Filmfare, Anushka opened up about what it felt like to be married to the cricketing superstar, describing her husband as her “best friend” and “confidant.”

“I’m Married to My Best Friend”

Reflecting on the first one and a half years of their marriage (at the time of the 2019 interview), Anushka spoke candidly about her bond with Kohli.

“I’m married to my best friend. I’m married to my confidant. I’m married to someone I love so dearly just because of the human being that he is. You talk about being misunderstood in life and then you meet someone, who understands you completely,” she shared.

Anushka emphasized that the world fades away when they are together, finding solace in their shared similarities:

“Then the world doesn’t exist. So for him and me, when we’re together, the world ceases to exist. We find solace in one another because of the similarities we share as people. Even when we were dating each other, it was the same thing. I feel extremely happy because he’s my family.”

The Power Couple and Family

Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, one of the most followed celebrity couples, tied the knot in a private ceremony in Tuscany, Italy, in December 2017. They reportedly began dating around 2013 after meeting during a commercial shoot.

The couple are parents to two children: a daughter, Vamika, born in January 2021, and a son, Akaay, born in February last year.

Kohli recently shared a charming photo of the duo on Instagram, captioned “Been a minute,” where they were seen smiling, with Kohli resting his cheek on Anushka’s forehead. Kohli was last seen in action in the third ODI against Australia last month, where he guided India with an unbeaten knock of 74.
