Los Angeles, July 3, 2025 —Orlando Bloom is opening up about the emotional toll of his breakup with fiancée Katy Perry, sharing introspective quotes on Instagram Stories that hint at his inner turmoil. The 48-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star reposted a series of quotes from Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung, reflecting on themes of loneliness, sadness, and the complexity of happiness.

“Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate that which seems important to oneself,” read one quote shared from @SAPIENKIND.
Another quote, also posted to Bloom’s Stories, stated:
“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”
The emotional posts follow reports last week confirming that Bloom and Perry had ended their engagement after nearly a decade of highs and lows. Sources close to the couple told Us Weekly that while the split was amicable, it had been “a long time coming” due to months of rising tension.

“It’s not contentious at the moment,” said a source. “Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”

The couple got engaged in February 2019 after rekindling their romance in 2018. They share a 4-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, born in August 2020.
Despite the breakup, insiders insist the couple remains committed to co-parenting.
“They want to protect Daisy from any negativity. That’s their top priority,” the source added.
While Bloom has not officially commented on the breakup, his cryptic posts speak volumes. They suggest a man coming to terms with loss — not just of a relationship, but of the future he envisioned.
