Shahid Kapoor–Triptii Dimri film outpaces Assi and Mardaani 3 in daily numbers but lags behind Sunny Deol’s blockbuster
February 25, 2026: O’Romeo, starring Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, continues its steady run at the box office, collecting Rs 59.05 crore so far. Directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, the film wrapped up its first week at Rs 47.1 crore and added Rs 1.65 crore on February 24. Backed by Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the film has surpassed Haider and Kaminey to become Shahid’s sixth-highest grosser, marking one of Triptii’s biggest commercial successes as well.
Meanwhile, Assi, led by Taapsee Pannu, has earned Rs 5.75 crore since its release last Friday. The film opened at Rs 1 crore and saw its best numbers over the weekend with Rs 1.6 crore each on Saturday and Sunday, before adding Rs 0.85 crore on February 24. On the other hand, Mardaani 3, headlined by Rani Mukerji and produced by Yash Raj Films, has collected Rs 48.21 crore in 27 days but is witnessing a slowdown, earning just Rs 0.25 crore on its fourth Tuesday.
However, Border 2, starring Sunny Deol, remains the box office giant with a massive Rs 326.57 crore collection. Released on January 23, the film minted Rs 224.25 crore in its first week and continued strong with Rs 70.15 crore in week two. Though it earned Rs 0.34 crore on February 24, its lifetime total keeps it far ahead of O’Romeo and other recent releases.
