Starz announces August 8 premiere for Outlander prequel, spotlighting two epic romances set across World War I and 18th-century Scotland

Washington, April 18:
Outlander fans, prepare for a new chapter in the Fraser saga. Starz has officially announced the premiere of its much-anticipated prequel series Outlander: Blood of My Blood, which will debut on Friday, August 8.

The series dives into two parallel love stories from different time periods — the romance between Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) during World War I, and the early relationship between Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) in 18th-century Scotland. These stories, set generations before Claire and Jamie’s iconic journey, promise rich emotional drama, sweeping romance, and the tension of forbidden love.

“From the war-torn trenches of WWI to the breathtaking Highlands, Blood of My Blood explores two defining romances that shaped the Fraser legacy,” Starz said in a statement.

The ensemble cast also features:

  • Tony Curran as Lord Lovat, grandfather of Jamie Fraser
  • Peter Mullan as Red Jacob MacKenzie, Laird of Clan MacKenzie
  • Rory Alexander as young Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser
  • Sam Retford and Seamus McLean Ross as Dougal and Colum MacKenzie
  • Ailsa Davidson as Janet MacKenzie
  • Sadhbh Malin as Jocasta Cameron
  • Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan
  • Jhon Lumsden, Sara Vickers, and Terence Rae in key supporting roles

The show promises the rich world-building and emotional gravitas Outlander fans expect, with battles of loyalty, legacy, and longing interwoven through generations.
