Pakistani Designer Bodyshames ‘Laila Majnu’ Actor Avinash Tiwary

Avinash Tiwary Responds Strongly to Unsolicited Comments. Actor Praised for Shutting Down Criticism of His Physique

July 26, 2025: Pakistani famous stylist and costume designer Rao Ali Khan made a body-shaming insult against actor Avinash Tiwary. Tiwary’s classy response has been praised by many. The conversation, which took place on Instagram, got a lot of attention again once it was posted on Reddit.

Avinash Tiwary shuts down a critic who body-shamed him; fans praise his response. In the comments area of an Instagram photo, Rao Ali Khan, a famous stylist, costume designer, and magazine writer, publicly ridiculed Tiwary’s body. Khan said, “Loved Bombay Meri Jaan… I was wondering why you have tummy obesity in both Khakee and Bombay Meri Jaan. So glad to see a healthier body—great! He also said, “Loved Bombay Meri Jaan but please lose weight and look fit.”

Avinash Tiwary answered angrily yet calmly, pointing out that he was there for professional reasons. He told Khan, “Sir, you are a journalist.” You would know it was for the part if you had done any research. I think you should stop thinking of movies as merely vanity. Thanks. He also only said “Okay” to Khan’s second reply telling him to lose weight.

A lot of people on social media liked how Tiwary handled the situation. Many people said that the changes he made to his body were typically for specific roles, which made his characters more believable. One person said, “I love him for this. He’s an artist through and through.” And that definitely makes it more authentic. I’ve seen movies where the main character has abs and muscles but works all day at a desk job with a shy diet. “Always takes me out.” Another person asked Khan why he was so obsessed with his weight, saying, “@raoalikhan why are you so obsessed with his weight?” “Don’t worry about yourself, brother.”

Avinash Tiwary is noted for his diverse performances in films like “Laila Majnu,” “Bulbbul,” and web series like “Khakee: The Bihar Chapter” and “Bambai Meri Jaan.” He regularly goes through big changes in his body to make his characters more real. Tiwary himself talked about how he changed his body for the role of Dara Kadri after the publication of “Bambai Meri Jaan” in October 2023. He said he “decided to gain weight, grow hair, and not care about grooming so that his character never looked attractive.” This context makes his response to Rao Ali Khan’s unwanted statements even stronger.
