SAMAA TV reported that the shooter was a visitor at Sana’s home. Quoting police sources, the channel stated, “Sana Yousuf, who hailed from Upper Chitral and lived in Islamabad, was fatally shot by a guest who had come to her home. The assailant escaped immediately after the incident.”

Sana’s body was taken to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a post-mortem. While investigations are underway, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the killing remains unclear.

The murder has sparked an outpouring of grief and anger on social media, with followers demanding justice for Sana Yousaf.

Similar Case Earlier This Year
Sana’s tragic death follows another disturbing incident involving a teenage influencer in Pakistan. Earlier this year, 15-year-old Hira was allegedly killed by her father and maternal uncle in Quetta in what authorities suspect was an honour killing related to her TikTok presence.

Police said Hira’s father, Anwarul-Haq, had returned to Pakistan from the US with his daughter after allegedly being enraged by her continued TikTok activity. Investigators later confirmed that both Anwarul-Haq and his brother-in-law, Tayyab Ali, confessed to the crime. The case is now with the Serious Crime Investigation Wing for further proceedings.

As the investigation into Sana Yousaf’s murder unfolds, social media users and women’s rights activists are calling for swift action and accountability in yet another grim reminder of the challenges faced by female influencers in Pakistan.
