May 17, 2025: Actor Palak Tiwari has spoken out against the growing trend of body shaming and online hate, following criticism aimed at Ibrahim Ali Khan, who was recently mocked by a Pakistani reviewer for his appearance and acting debut in Nadaaniyan.

In an interview with Nayandeep Rakshit, Palak — rumoured to be dating Ibrahim — addressed the toxicity in the entertainment industry. She noted how public figures are often placed in a no-win situation when it comes to appearance and performance.

“If there’s one thing that sells more than celebrity, it is celebrity bashing… You first put our focus on our aesthetics, and then when someone tries to fix it, you bash them again,” she said.

Palak’s comments come shortly after a Pakistani critic, Tamur Iqbal, mocked Ibrahim’s nose in a review. Ibrahim fired back with an angry message on social media, calling the reviewer a “walking piece of scum” and threatening him with physical violence.

The online exchange has ignited a broader conversation about the mental health toll of public scrutiny, especially on newcomers in the industry. Palak stressed that constant trolling pushes many actors towards cosmetic procedures, only to be judged again for those choices.

“It’s a loop. They basically just want to criticise you — your nose, your weight, your performance. And if it’s none of that, they say you just got lucky,” she added.

Ibrahim, the son of Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, made his much-anticipated acting debut this year. His off-screen equation with Palak has been under speculation since 2022, though both maintain they are “just friends.”

Despite the social media storm, Palak and Ibrahim were recently seen together at the special screening of her film The Bhootnii, fueling ongoing dating rumours.
