Pamela Anderson Steps into Iconic Role for The Naked Gun Remake

July 24, 2025: Pamela Anderson is embracing a new comedic challenge, starring alongside Liam Neeson in this summer’s highly anticipated remake of The Naked Gun. Anderson, 58, takes on the role of Beth, the love interest to Neeson’s Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. Neeson, 72, plays the son of Leslie Nielsen’s original character.

A Blessing from Priscilla Presley

In the original Naked Gun trilogy, Frank Drebin’s love interest, Jane Spencer, was famously played by Priscilla Presley. Anderson revealed at the UK premiere on July 22 that Presley, 80, reached out to her before filming, offering some insightful advice: “Have fun with it. Don’t be afraid to be silly.” This proved to be valuable guidance for Anderson, as Presley herself garnered critical acclaim for her comedic performance in the original films, despite not being known as a comic actress prior.

Anderson expressed her delight working with Neeson on the new film, stating she had “so much fun.” She described Neeson as “silly and goofy,” qualities she shares, leading to great chemistry on and off camera. She playfully teased that her “favorite part” of the movie will be “very clear” to fans.

Neeson himself previously praised Anderson, telling PEOPLE last October, “I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with.” He highlighted her professionalism and humble demeanor, adding, “No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.”

A Career Reimagined

This year has been a significant one for Anderson’s career. She earned Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations for her starring role in The Last Showgirl. Despite a long list of acting credits, including Baywatch and Scary Movie, Anderson feels she’s just getting started. “I feel like I’ve just started my career now,” she told PEOPLE, expressing excitement about playing a “real character” in The Naked Gun. This summer, Anderson is also performing in the Tennessee Williams play Camino Real.

The Naked Gun is set to hit theaters on Friday, August 1.
