The trailer for the Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer has gone viral for a powerful monologue. In the scene, Janhvi’s character takes on North Indian stereotypes about South actors, leaving fans impressed with her performance.
August 13, 2025: The official trailer for the upcoming romance drama Param Sundari, which stars Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, has been unveiled and fans and critics have given it a lot of praise. The movie’s cross-cultural romance and beautiful backdrop in Kerala have impressed, but Janhvi Kapoor’s angry monologue has really gone viral and gotten a lot of attention on social media.
In the last few seconds of the trailer, Janhvi’s character Sundari gives a strong but angry speech, telling North Indians that they shouldn’t group all South Indian superstars together. She talks about the famous people from each South Indian state with a lot of passion: “Kerala-Malayalam, Mohanlal; Tamil Nadu-Tamil, Rajinikanth; Andhra-Telugu, Allu Arjun; Karnataka-Kannada, Yash!” Madras for you, every South Indian? Those North Indians are really rude! Uneducated, arrogant, stupid, and entitled! “Traitors!”
Social media fans have really connected with the scenario, and they appreciated Janhvi’s acting. People on X (previously Twitter) praised her “attitude and expressions” and “perfect comedic timing,” and many thought she was “representing every south Indian.”
The movie, directed by Tushar Jalota, is about a Punjabi guy and a South Indian girl who fall in love despite their diverse cultural backgrounds. Maddock Films made Param Sundari, which will be released in theaters on August 29.
