‘Parasite’ Actor Song Kang-Ho Joins ‘Beef’ Season 2 Cast

December 20, 2024: Song Kang-Ho, the acclaimed South Korean actor best known for his iconic role in the Oscar-winning film Parasite, has officially signed on for a guest star role in the second season of Netflix’s hit anthology series Beef. His addition to the cast is sure to excite fans of the series, which has already made a major impact with its first season.

The upcoming season will feature an ensemble cast that includes Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, Cailee Spaeny, and Youn Yuh-jung. While details about Song’s character are being kept under wraps, the storyline for Beef Season 2 promises a gripping new narrative. The plot centers around a young couple who inadvertently witness a tense confrontation between their wealthy boss and his wife. This incident triggers a series of manipulative and power-driven moves within the elitist world of a country club and its powerful Korean billionaire owner, setting the stage for high-stakes drama.

The first season of Beef, which premiered in 2023, was a massive hit, drawing critical acclaim and earning several prestigious awards, including eight Emmy Awards, four Critics Choice Awards, three Golden Globe Awards, and multiple honors from the Screen Actors Guild. The show, which starred Steven Yeun and Ali Wong, explored the lives of two strangers whose worlds collide following a road rage incident, drawing inspiration from the personal experiences of creator Lee Sung Jin.

Season 2 of Beef will consist of eight episodes, each running approximately 30 minutes. Lee Sung Jin returns as creator, showrunner, and executive producer, with Steven Yeun, Ali Wong, Jake Schreier, Kitao Sakurai, and others also serving as executive producers. The series is produced by the renowned production company A24.

With Song Kang-Ho joining such a talented ensemble, the second season of Beef is shaping up to be another thrilling chapter in the series’ already impressive run. Fans of both Song and the show are eagerly anticipating what’s next in this intriguing exploration of power, manipulation, and human nature.
