May 9, 2025: Veteran actor Paresh Rawal has cleared the air on his recent comment about Akshay Kumar being “just a colleague,” which stirred speculation about a possible rift between the two frequent co-stars. The statement, which went viral online, led fans to question the status of their relationship, especially given their iconic on-screen chemistry in films like Hera Pheri, Welcome, and Oh My God.

In a recent interview, Paresh addressed the misunderstanding. “Maatha kharab ho gaya, yaar! I simply said that he’s a colleague. When you say ‘friend,’ it usually refers to someone you meet five to six times a month or speak to regularly. Akshay and I aren’t social that way. So, I used the word ‘colleague’—and people ran with it,” he explained.

He emphasized that there is no issue between them, adding, “People are asking, ‘Kya ho gaya?’ Arre bhai, kuch nahin hua!”
When asked whether Akshay had reacted to his original statement, Paresh said, “No. He’s a cool guy. Akshay and I have worked in at least 15-20 films together. He’s a great guy to be friends with.”

The veteran actor also expressed concern about how quickly things can be blown out of proportion in media and social circles. “I’ll be more careful while giving interviews now,” he noted.

Fans of the duo can rest assured that the off-screen relationship between Paresh and Akshay remains cordial. The actors are set to appear together in several upcoming films, including Priyadarshan’s Bhooth Bangla and the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3. They will also be seen in Welcome To The Jungle, featuring a star-studded cast including Rajpal Yadav, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Johnny Lever, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Disha Patani.

With multiple collaborations lined up, the dynamic duo looks set to deliver more laughs and memorable moments on screen.
