Paresh Rawal Recalls Working with Salman and Aamir in Andaz Apna Apna

“Salman will shoot hasste khelte, Aamir has to know everything.”

New Delhi | April 22, 2025Veteran actor reflects on the contrasting styles of the two Khans and why the cult comedy remains his most fun shoot ever.

Over 30 years after its release, Andaz Apna Apna continues to live in the hearts of fans, and now it’s making a return to the big screen on April 25. Ahead of the re-release, Paresh Rawal, who memorably played the dual roles of Ram Gopal Bajaj and Teja, opened up about his experience shooting the iconic film — and working with both Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.

Speaking to Radio Nasha, Paresh drew a clear line between the two Khans’ working styles:

Salman’s charm and charisma is like a breeze — he just walks in and delivers with ease. Aamir, on the other hand, is deeply methodical. He needs to understand every detail, every layer.”

“Kabhi kabhi lagta tha ki thoda manufacture kiya gaya hai (sometimes it felt a bit manufactured). But when you see the final result on screen — it’s simply amazing,” he added.

😂 The Only Comedy Film Where They Laughed While Shooting

Interestingly, Rawal revealed that Andaz Apna Apna was unique even among his legendary comedy roles:

“People often say films like Hera Pheri were hilarious, but we never laughed on set. But this one was different. Rajkumar Santoshi explained scenes so hilariously, we’d burst out laughing even while filming.”

🎞️ A Cult Classic That Missed Its Mark Initially

Despite its legendary status today, Andaz Apna Apna didn’t make much noise at the box office when it first released in 1994.

“It was a misfire in terms of release, it didn’t get the attention it deserved. That was disappointing. But over time, it grew into the classic it is today,” said Rawal.

🔙 Back in Theatres – April 25

With its re-release just days away, Andaz Apna Apna is poised to introduce a new generation to Amar, Prem, Teja, and Crime Master Gogo — along with all the madness that made it one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved comedies.
