“People Will Forget Us”: Aamir Khan Reflects On Stardom and Legacy of Khans

Aamir Khan opens up on the future of Bollywood stars, the legacy of the Khans, and hints at a possible film with Shah Rukh and Salman Khan.

March 23, 2025: Aamir Khan is once again winning hearts — not with a film, but with humility.

In a recent candid chat with Instant Bollywood, the actor opened up about the evolving face of stardom in Indian cinema. When asked about the legacy of Bollywood’s ‘Khan trio’ — himself, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan — Aamir offered a refreshingly grounded take.

People will forget me, Shah Rukh, and Salman. That’s how it should be,” Aamir said. “Every generation learns from the previous one and becomes better. There’s no such thing as ‘We are the last of the stars.’ After us, many more stars will come.”

The Dangal actor emphasized that time always moves forward. “Zamana aage chalta hai. Hum ginti mein bhi nahi rahenge. Aap log bhool jaaoge. Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh… Mahesh ensures destruction, and then you forget everything,” he said, comparing the cycle of fame to the eternal process of creation and dissolution.

Aamir also confirmed that he, Shah Rukh, and Salman have casually talked about doing a film together — a dream project fans have long wished for. While the trio is still waiting for the right script, Aamir joked, “Even if the movie turns out to be average, fans will still enjoy seeing the three of us together.”

The actor recently celebrated his 60th birthday in Mumbai, and both SRK and Salman joined him for the special occasion — a moment that warmed fan hearts across the country.

What’s next for the Khans?
Aamir is currently working on Sitaare Zameen Par, a spiritual successor to his critically acclaimed Taare Zameen Par. Salman Khan’s action-packed Sikandar, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna, is set to release on March 30. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for King, directed by Sujoy Ghosh.

Whether or not fans “forget” the Khans in the future, their contribution to Indian cinema remains unforgettable — for now, and for generations to come.
