February 16, 2025: Comedian and actor Pete Davidson recently shared his support for his ex-fiancée, Ariana Grande, expressing his hopes for her success this awards season. Grande, who is nominated for Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of Glinda in Wicked, has received cheers from Davidson, who continues to speak fondly of their past relationship.

Davidson, who was engaged to Grande for four months in 2018, opened up about their current friendship during a recent interview. “When we see each other, which is few and far between, because we’re not in the same circles, it’s all love,” Davidson said. Despite their split years ago, he remains supportive of Grande’s career, adding, “I hope she wins the Oscar; I hope she takes the gold.”

Davidson also reflected on his past relationships, noting that despite the attention they’ve garnered in the media, he’s been able to move on with grace. “I’ve had some pretty adult relationships with some pretty amazing women, and when it’s ended, it’s been cool,” he shared. The comedian has dated several high-profile women since his breakup with Grande in October 2018, including Kate Beckinsale, Kaia Gerber, and Kim Kardashian.

Grande, on the other hand, married Dalton Gomez in 2021, but the couple split in 2024. She is now dating her Wicked co-star, Ethan Slater.

Davidson, known for his time on Saturday Night Live and his role in The King of Staten Island, also opened up about the pressure and scrutiny that comes with dating high-profile women. He admitted that the media attention has been “humiliating” and “upsetting” for him, particularly the constant headlines about his relationships. “Everyone is dating everyone and it’s Hollywood. But because I’m ugly, they wrote about me,” he quipped, adding that the intense media focus made his life difficult.

While Davidson and Grande’s relationship ended in 2018, the impact of their short-lived engagement still lingers in pop culture. Grande referenced Davidson in her hit songs “Pete Davidson” and “thank u, next,” the latter of which mentions him alongside her other exes.

As Grande continues to shine in her career, including her role in Wicked, Davidson’s supportive comments show that, despite their past, there’s mutual respect between the two.
