India’s highest-paid actor reportedly reduces his remuneration from ₹150 crore to ₹100 crore, showing support for the production house after their previous collaboration underperformed.
September 30, 2025: Reports say that Prabhas, one of India’s biggest and highest-paid performers, has agreed to a huge pay cut for his next Telugu movie, The Raja Saab.
The actor usually demands roughly Rs 150 crore for each movie, but for the horror-comedy, he is said to have agreed to a fee of Rs 100 crore, which is about 33% less than what he usually charges.
The Adipurush Effect: Reports from the industry say that this big change in finances is directly related to the poor performance and harsh criticism of his last movie, Adipurush.
People Media Factory is making The Raja Saab, the same company that made the mythical epic that got a lot of bad reviews. People see Prabhas’s move as a sign of support and an attempt to ease the financial strain on the producers after the Adipurush disaster.
Even though it had a huge budget, the 2023 release got a lot of bad reviews from both viewers and critics for:
Bad VFX: Many people said the visual effects were bad, which made the movie look fake.
The script, which used modern vernacular, was thought to disrespect the epic’s holiness.
Controversial Character Portrayals: For example, Saif Ali Khan’s portrayal of Raavan caused a lot of debate about how real it was.

The news about the wage drop comes right after the trailer for The Raja Saab was out. The trailer has gotten a lot of attention because it has a distinct horror-comedy premise.
Maruthi directed the movie, which stars Prabhas in two roles: a young man and a “evil grandfather.” The teaser shows a star-studded ensemble, including Sanjay Dutt, who plays a “exorcist, psychiatrist, and hypnotist,” and Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar.
The movie is about a young guy who wants to take back his family’s land, but he finds out that it has scary, otherworldly mysteries. The Raja Saab is set to come out in January 2026, maybe around the time of the Sankranti holiday.
