Actor Prakash Raj has issued a sharp response to social media users who circulated a fake tweet attributed to him, which contained derogatory remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother.

The actor, currently grieving the loss of his own mother, Swarnalatha Raj—who passed away on March 29, 2026—did not mince words when addressing the misinformation.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, the Dabangg 2 actor exposed the hoax, stating: “Bigots creating a FAKE tweet in my name and abusing their own leader on #AprilFoolsDay… the joke is on you Fools.” The fraudulent screenshot had falsely depicted Raj making offensive comments regarding the Prime Minister’s mother, Hiraben Modi, under the actor’s signature hashtag, #JustAsking.

The incident occurred during a deeply emotional week for the actor, following his mother’s funeral held on March 31. Despite the malicious attempts to stir controversy during his time of mourning, Raj remained composed, later sharing a heartfelt note of gratitude to those who offered their condolences. He wrote, “Thank you each n everyone for your kindness and thoughtful words. It meant a lot to me and my family in these moments of grief.”
