Prakash Raj Out of Spirit? Exit Buzz Resurfaces After Vivek Oberoi Poster Drop
National Award-winning actor Prakash Raj is once again at the centre of speculation regarding his association with the upcoming film Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga.
Although earlier reports claimed that the actor was removed from the project due to “creative differences,” Prakash Raj had strongly denied the rumours, calling them “fake news” and clarifying that he had not even begun shooting his portions.
The exit chatter has resurfaced after the makers unveiled the first-look poster of Vivek Oberoi from the film. In the social media post introducing the character, the production house tagged the film’s cast and crew — but notably, Prakash Raj’s name was missing from the list.
This omission has fuelled speculation that he may no longer be part of the project. However, there has been no official confirmation from the makers or the actor so far.
On February 9, Prakash Raj had taken to X (formerly Twitter) to dismiss the removal reports. He stated that shooting for his scenes had not even commenced and criticised what he termed “toxic fake news peddlers” for spreading baseless stories.
The film had earlier made headlines over reports that Deepika Padukone was initially cast as the female lead opposite Prabhas. Speculation suggested she exited the project following discussions over work-hour arrangements post motherhood. She was later replaced by Triptii Dimri.
Touted as one of the most anticipated upcoming Indian films, Spirit is expected to hit theatres in March 2027. With casting developments continuing to generate buzz, fans are now awaiting an official clarification regarding Prakash Raj’s status in the film.
