Pre-Release Showdown: Housefull 5 Almost Beats War 2 in Audience Buzz!
May 29, 2025: The battle at the box office is heating up even before the films hit theatres! Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR’s highly anticipated action thriller War 2 is currently leading the pre-release interest charts on BookMyShow, but Akshay Kumar’s comedy franchise Housefull 5 is fast closing in.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is slated for release on August 14, 2025, and has already garnered massive attention. The film’s teaser, which dropped on May 20, smashed records by becoming the 5th most viewed Bollywood teaser in 24 hours on YouTube. This buzz has translated into real-time audience interest, with 75.7K BookMyShow users marking their excitement for the film.
Meanwhile, Housefull 5, scheduled to release on June 6, 2025, has seen a surge in popularity following the release of its trailer earlier this week. The ensemble comedy, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, has now reached 68.8K user interests, just a 10% jump away from overtaking War 2.
The battle is far from over.
With positive word-of-mouth and a massive star-studded lineup, Housefull 5 could soon topple War 2 in pre-release buzz. That said, War 2 has the advantage of being part of the expanding YRF Spy Universe, and excitement around Hrithik Roshan vs Jr NTR is sky-high.
As the release dates inch closer, it’s going to be a gripping pre-release race between two of 2025’s biggest Bollywood films.
