Elle Fanning and a young rogue Predator form an unexpected alliance in the sci-fi franchise’s bold new chapter, directed by Prey filmmaker Dan Trachtenberg
Los Angeles, April 24: The hunt evolves once more. 20th Century Studios has dropped the much-awaited trailer for Predator: Badlands, the newest installment in the iconic Predator franchise, promising a radical twist to the franchise’s survival saga. The film is set to release in theaters and IMAX on November 7.
Breaking franchise tradition, Predator: Badlands brings together Elle Fanning as Thia, a determined human survivor, and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi as a young, outcast Predator. Instead of facing off, the two must join forces on a hostile, alien planet to battle a common, formidable enemy.
Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who helmed 2022’s critically acclaimed Prey, the film explores a future where trust between species may be the only path to survival. Trachtenberg’s return signals a bold direction, especially following Prey’s six Emmy nominations and rave reviews.
The story follows Thia and the young Predator’s perilous journey, battling internal demons and external threats, as they seek vengeance against a shared enemy who threatens both their worlds.
🎬 Expanding the Predator Franchise
Badlands also sets the stage for a broader expansion of the Predator universe. Trachtenberg is additionally directing an animated Predator film titled Killer of Killers, set to premiere on Hulu from June 6.
With stunning visuals, an emotional core, and an unorthodox partnership at its center, Predator: Badlands looks set to reinvigorate the franchise for a new generation.
