Preity Zinta Lauds Punjab Kings’ Openers Prabhsimran And Priyansh For ‘Fearless and Mature’ Batting

April 27, 2025: Bollywood actress and co-owner of Punjab Kings, Preity Zinta, praised her team’s openers, Prabhsimran Singh and Priyansh Arya, for their stellar batting performances in the ongoing IPL season.

In an Instagram post, Preity shared a picture with the two young openers and wrote, “Last night rain played spoilt sport, but not enough to dampen the spirits of our two young explosive openers. Prabhsimran has been with us from the start when he was a teenager and this is Priyansh’s first IPL! I’m so proud to see both of them play fearlessly and with maturity, complementing each other & becoming the base of Punjab Power.”

The post highlighted the incredible partnership between Prabhsimran and Priyansh, who put together a brilliant 120-run opening stand during Punjab Kings’ match against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Friday evening. Despite the match being abandoned due to rain, the duo’s performance stood out, with Priyansh scoring a fiery 69 off 36 balls, including 8 fours and 4 sixes, while Prabhsimran contributed with a blistering 83 off 49 balls, hitting 6 boundaries and as many sixes.

Their explosive partnership helped Punjab Kings post an impressive total of 201/4, especially as the pitch slowed down during the match. Unfortunately, relentless rain in Kolkata prevented the match from being completed, leaving Punjab unable to defend their total.

Punjab Kings now look forward to their next match against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday.
