April 9, 2025: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s decision to leave their royal roles continues to stir headlines, with royal commentator Angela Levin now claiming Harry “felt forced” to step away for Meghan.
Levin’s comments came in response to a court submission made on behalf of Prince Harry, in which his legal team stated that he and Meghan Markle had “felt forced to step back from frontline royal duties” due to inadequate protection from the institution.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex left the UK in 2020 and have since settled in California. While they remain active in the public eye, their relationship with the royal family has remained distant. Prince Harry has repeatedly cited security concerns as the main reason for avoiding prolonged visits to the UK.
Royal biographer Angela Levin, a vocal critic of the Sussexes, weighed in on Harry’s legal statement, tweeting:
“Harry ‘felt forced’ to leave for Meghan who hated Royal protocol. She felt and showed in several ways she knew better.”
Levin also stated that the royal family made considerable efforts to accommodate Meghan, but the demands were never-ending.

“The family bent over backwards to be helpful but you can’t expect any family — certainly not the Royal Family — to cope with Meghan’s demands. Nothing would have been enough and hasn’t been since. Harry should know that by now,” she added.
As the legal battle over security continues, so does the public debate about the real reasons behind Harry and Meghan’s departure from royal life.
