Prithviraj’s 'L2: Empuraan' Set for March 27 Release, Says 'No Competition' with Salman Khan’s 'Sikandar'
New Delhi, March 26: As anticipation builds for the release of ‘L2: Empuraan’, director and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran has made it clear—there’s no rivalry between his film and Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’, which arrives just days later.
Speaking at a recent press conference ahead of his Malayalam action thriller co-starring superstar Mohanlal, Prithviraj addressed the talk around the box office clash between the two big releases. While ‘Empuraan’ hits screens on March 27, Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ is slated for a March 30 release.
“Salman Khan is one of the biggest stars in the country. There is absolutely no competition between the two movies. I sincerely hope Sikandar becomes a blockbuster,” Prithviraj said with a smile.
“I will have no complaints if people watch L2: Empuraan at 11 a.m. and Sikandar at 1 p.m.,” he added, winning hearts with his candid charm.
‘Sikandar’, helmed by A.R. Murugadoss, marks a massive return for Salman Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala, reuniting for the first time since ‘Kick’ (2014). Known for action-packed entertainers like Ghajini and Thuppakki, Murugadoss is expected to bring his signature high-octane drama to this Bollywood spectacle.
On the other hand, ‘L2: Empuraan’ is the highly-anticipated sequel to the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Lucifer’. The film continues the story of Khureshi Ab’raam, portrayed by Mohanlal, and is expected to explore the dark political underbelly through a gripping socio-political drama. The trailer has already wowed fans with its slick visuals and intense storytelling.
With two major releases just days apart, cinephiles across the country are gearing up for a power-packed cinematic weekend.
