Priya Saroj’s Father Clears Air On Engagement Rumours With Rinku Singh

January 19, 2025: Amidst rumors of Team India batter Rinku Singh and Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj getting engaged, Priya’s father, Tufani Saroj, has cleared the air. He confirmed that while both Rinku and Priya have expressed their desire to marry and sought their parents’ permission, the engagement has not yet taken place. According to Tufani Saroj, initial discussions regarding the potential marriage have occurred, but no formal engagement ceremony has happened yet.

This clarification came after widespread reports on the internet claimed that the two were already engaged. Tufani Saroj, who is also a sitting MLA from the Samajwadi Party, addressed these rumors, emphasizing that while both families are open to the idea of marriage, the engagement is still pending.

Rinku Singh, the 27-year-old batter, has made significant strides in his cricket career. Following the T20 World Cup, he has become a regular in the T20 format but has yet to establish himself in ODIs, having played just two matches so far. He has been impressive in List-A cricket, scoring 1,899 runs in 52 innings at an average of 48.69, including one century and 17 half-centuries. In T20Is, he has accumulated 507 runs in 30 matches at an average of 46.09 and a strike rate of 165.14, though he is yet to score his maiden T20I century.

Rinku has also been a key player for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL, playing 46 matches and scoring 893 runs at a strike rate of 143.33, with four half-centuries to his name.
