Priyanka Chopra and Rajshri Entertainment Team Up for Marathi Film ‘Paani’, Set for October 2024 Release

Global icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas has once again demonstrated her commitment to regional cinema by partnering with Rajshri Entertainment and Kothare Vision Pvt Ltd for an upcoming Marathi film titled ‘Paani’. Scheduled to hit theaters on October 18, 2024, this film marks a significant milestone as it is Rajshri Entertainment’s first venture into Marathi cinema and the directorial debut of Addinath M. Kothare.

The announcement was made by Priyanka on her official Instagram handle, where she shared a captivating video teaser of the film along with a heartfelt message. “This is very, very special,” Priyanka wrote. “Our Marathi feature film ‘Paani’ is all set to release theatrically on 18th October. See you in the theatres!” This statement not only generated excitement among her fans but also highlighted her dedication to bringing meaningful regional stories to the forefront.

‘Paani’ is a collaborative effort between Rajshri Entertainment, Purple Pebble Pictures, and Kothare Vision Pvt Ltd. The film is written by Nitin Dixit and features an impressive ensemble cast, including Addinath M. Kothare, Rucha Vaidya, Subodh Bhave, Rajit Kapur, Kishor Kadam, and Nitin Dixit. The cast also includes Sachin Goswami, Mohanabai, Shripad Joshi, and Vikas Pandurang Patil. With such a powerful team behind it, ‘Paani’ promises to make a lasting impact on the Marathi film industry.

The production of ‘Paani’ is backed by a stellar team, with Neha Barjatya and the late Rajjat Barjatya joining forces with Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Dr. Madhu Chopra as producers. Mahesh Kothare and Siddharth Chopra serve as associate producers, ensuring that the film benefits from a wealth of experience and creative input.

In a press note shared by the film’s team, Priyanka Chopra, the founder of Purple Pebble Pictures, expressed her deep connection to the project. “I’m thrilled to share ‘Paani’ with the world, a true passion project that tackles a vital issue,” she stated. “This film is special, and challenging to make but so relevant for the time we live in. This is an inspiring story of one man’s journey to find solutions that will radically change the lives of all those around him.” Her words reflect the importance of the film’s theme, which revolves around the critical issue of water scarcity—a topic that resonates deeply in today’s world.

Priyanka further emphasized her pride in the collaboration, highlighting the mission of Purple Pebble Pictures to craft local stories from every region of India. “‘Paani’ is a shining example of an entertaining, inspiring film with a pressing concern,” she said. “I’m so proud of Addinath’s remarkable directorial debut. Congratulations to the entire team on their hard-won achievement! Our fourth Marathi production is a testament to the power of collaboration.”

Neha Barjatya of Rajshri Entertainment also expressed her enthusiasm for the project, noting that ‘Paani’ is a significant venture for the company. “This is Rajshri Entertainment’s first Marathi film, and we are thrilled that ‘Paani’ is leading the way,” she shared. “The film addresses the vital issue of water scarcity. With its strong subject and a talented team, ‘Paani’ stands out as a socially relevant film. We believe it will significantly contribute to raising awareness about this pressing issue.”
