August 15, 2025: Fan anticipation for SS Rajamouli’s next magnum opus, the globe-trotting action-adventure tentatively titled SSMB29, has reached a fever pitch after the first picture of lead stars Mahesh Babu and Priyanka Chopra from the set went viral. The photograph, taken a few days ago in Hyderabad during Mahesh Babu’s 50th birthday celebration, marks the first public sighting of the two actors together for the film.
The image, shared by a fan page, shows Priyanka and Mahesh Babu happily posing with a group of musicians. The actress is seen in a sleeveless white top and jeans, while the superstar is in a navy blue tee. The photo has garnered massive attention online, with fans expressing their excitement over the pairing.
The viral picture comes just days after SS Rajamouli provided a major update on Mahesh Babu’s birthday. The director took to social media to explain why no assets from the film were shared, stating that the project’s “story and scope are so vast that I feel mere pictures or press conferences cannot do it justice.” He announced that a first reveal, which is being designed to be a “NEVER-BEFORE-SEEN” cinematic experience, will be unveiled in November 2025. The poster he shared on social media featured the hashtag #GlobeTrotter, sparking speculation that it could be the film’s official title.
The film, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role, is reportedly a globe-spanning jungle adventure inspired by African exploration tales. The screenplay is penned by Rajamouli’s father and frequent collaborator, Vijayendra Prasad.
