Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s much-anticipated documentary ‘Women of My Billion’ (WOMB) has finally secured a release date. The streaming platform, Prime Video, unveiled the inspiring trailer on Thursday, teasing viewers with a journey that traverses the length and breadth of India to champion women’s safety and empowerment.

Directed by Ajitesh Sharma and produced by Apoorva Bakshi and Monisha Thyagarajan’s Awedacious Originals in collaboration with Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ Purple Pebble Pictures, ‘Women of My Billion’ chronicles the remarkable odyssey of Srishti Bakshi. Srishti embarked on a monumental walking pilgrimage from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, covering 3,800 kilometers over 240 days, with a mission to unearth and share the untold stories of women across India—stories of struggle, resilience, dreams, and victories against all odds.

Producer Priyanka Chopra Jonas expressed, “WOMB transcends mere portrayal of pain; it’s a beacon of hope, a rallying cry for solidarity and action. We aspire for a world where every woman is appreciated, honored, and empowered to soar.”

Manish Menghani, Director and Head of Content Licensing at Prime Video India, emphasized the platform’s commitment to elevate narratives that inspire change, highlighting Srishti Bakshi’s bold initiative as a courageous step towards empowering women and combating violence.

‘Women of My Billion’ shines a light on the harsh realities faced by women in India, while also celebrating the opportunities for transformation brought about by digitization. The documentary, set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on May 3rd, aims to ignite a fervor for advocating women’s safety and rights, not just in India but across the globe.

Producer Apoorva Bakshi emphasized the urgent need for empowering women to shape a future free from constraints, expressing gratitude for the partnership with Prime Video to reach and inspire audiences worldwide.

UN SDG Changemaker Srishti Bakshi shared her journey’s profound message of unity, courage, and resilience, calling for collective action to break the silence surrounding violence against women. With ‘Women of My Billion,’ Srishti hopes to spark change and spread awareness globally, starting May 3rd, exclusively on Prime Video.
