Produced at ₹100 Crores, Sunny Deol’s ‘Jaat’ Recovers Costs Becomes Second Highest Grosser After Gadar 2

Despite facing stiff competition from Kesari Chapter 2 and legal hurdles, Jaat crosses the ₹100 crore mark at the global box office, solidifying its position as Sunny Deol’s second-biggest hit ever.

🎭 Cast & Reception

Audience reactions have been mixed but generally favorable, especially for its patriotism-driven narrative.

⚔️ Jaat vs. Kesari Chapter 2

Despite stiff competition, Jaat has outperformed initial projections.

  • Budget: ₹100 crore (Jaat) vs ₹150 crore (Kesari Chapter 2)
  • Kesari 2’s Worldwide Collection (Day 5): ₹64.40 crore

⚖️ Legal Controversy

The film ran into legal trouble when Christian groups objected to a scene allegedly disrespecting religious sentiments. Following backlash:

  • A public apology was issued
  • The scene was removed from the theatrical cut
  • An FIR was lodged in Jalandhar against Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, and three others

🔮 What’s Next?

With no major releases until Raid 2 hits screens on May 1, Jaat could gain further traction. However, it still needs to hit the ₹100 crore net mark domestically to declare clear profitability.
