“Proud of You, My Son”: Nagarjuna Lauds Naga Chaitanya for ‘Thandel’ Success

Veteran actor Nagarjuna praises son Naga Chaitanya for his dedication to ‘Thandel’ and thanks fans for their unwavering support.

February 10, 2025: Thandel, starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, hit theatres on February 7 and has been garnering positive reviews and impressive box office numbers. Reacting to the film’s success, Chaitanya’s father, veteran actor Nagarjuna, expressed his pride and gratitude on social media.

Taking to his X account, Nagarjuna shared a heartfelt message along with a picture of himself and Chaitanya. He wrote:
“Dear @chay_akkineni, Proud of you my son! I have watched you push boundaries, face challenges, and give your heart to the craft. Thandel is not just another film—it is a testament to your relentless passion, your courage to dream big, and your hard work. 🌸⭐❤️”

He also thanked the Akkineni fanbase, saying, “To all the Akkineni fans—you have stood by us like family, and Thandel’s success is as much yours as it is ours. Thank you for your endless love and support! Gratitude.”

Nagarjuna extended his congratulations to the entire team behind Thandel, adding:
“A BIG BIG thank you to #AlluAravind garu and @TheBunnyVas, congratulations to the amazingly talented @Sai_Pallavi92—you never cease to amaze, the genius @ThisIsDSP—you rock, the Rising Star director @chandoomondeti, and the fabulous #Thandel team for making this moment unforgettable!”

Chaitanya responded to his father’s praise, reposting the message and writing: “Thank you, naana. Your appreciation is true success for me :)”


About Thandel

Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Thandel is Naga Chaitanya’s biggest opener to date. The film, based on a real-life incident, tells the story of fishermen from Srikakulam who accidentally drift into Pakistani waters and are detained. Chaitanya plays Raju, a fisherman entrusted with the role of thandel (captain) for a critical fishing expedition near Gujarat. Sai Pallavi stars as his love interest, Satya, whom Raju affectionately calls bujji thalli (loved one).

According to the official X page of Thandel, the film grossed over ₹41.20 crore within just two days of its release.
