Pune Court Summons Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi Over Jolly LLB 3 After Lawyer’s Petition

Wajed Rahim Khan, an advocate, says that Jolly LLB 3 makes fun of the judicial system and doesn’t respect court proceedings. The actors and director have been asked to appear on October 28.

August 21 in Pune: The makers of Jolly LLB 3 are in more trouble now that a civil court in Pune has sent summons to Bollywood actors Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and director Subhash Kapoor. The summons came after lawyer Wajed Rahim Khan filed a petition saying that the movie made fun of the judicial system and showed lawyers in a bad light.

The court has ordered all three of them to be there in person on October 28 at 11 a.m.

Advocate Khan filed the petition after the first teaser for the movie came out in 2024. He strongly disagrees with how the movie shows the legal profession. He told ANI, “Lawyers should be respected.” That’s why I went to court and filed a petition. What they have said about judges and advocates is not true. There is even a part where people call judges “mama,” which is a slang term that is really rude. The court has now asked Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, and the director to come in person.

The Jolly LLB series has a long history in Indian movies. The first movie, which came out in 2013 and starred Arshad Warsi and Saurabh Shukla, became a sleeper smash. People loved how it made fun of the court system while yet being serious. Its sequel, Jolly LLB 2 (2017), which starred Akshay Kumar and Huma Qureshi, was a huge blockbuster at the box office.

After an eight-year break, the series is back with Jolly LLB 3. Subhash Kapoor writes and directs the third movie, which brings Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi back together on film. Alok Jain and Ajit Andhare are making the movie under the name Star Studio 18. It will come out in theaters on September 19, 2025.

Fans were quite excited when the teaser for the movie came out on August 12, 2025. They have been waiting for this courtroom comedy-drama to come back for a long time. But now that this legal problem is in the way, the road to freedom might be rougher than expected.

As the hearing date gets closer, everyone will be watching to see how the people who made Jolly LLB 3 respond to the claims and if the movie will have to be chopped, edited, or have any legal restrictions before it comes out.
