‘Pushpa 2’ Box Office Triumph: Allu Arjun’s Action Saga Crosses ₹1215 Crore in 5 Weeks
January 10, 2025: Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna’s action-packed sequel Pushpa 2 continues to dominate the box office, collecting an impressive ₹1215 crore worldwide in just five weeks since its release on December 5. Directed by Sukumar, the film has remained a powerhouse performer despite facing stiff competition from other major releases, including Varun Dhawan’s Baby John and Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King.
Following the massive success of its predecessor, Pushpa 2 took the cinematic world by storm with its high-octane action and powerful dialogues like “Fire nahi, wildfire hai”. The film broke the first installment’s records early in its run, cementing its place as a cinematic juggernaut.
According to Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 collected ₹2 crore on its fifth Thursday, bringing its fifth-week domestic net total to ₹25 crore. Despite being in theaters for over 30 days, the film’s momentum remains strong. On the same day, Baby John managed just ₹17 lakhs, while Mufasa: The Lion King earned ₹34 lakhs, underscoring Pushpa 2’s unparalleled dominance.

Pushpa 2’s stellar run hasn’t been without its share of controversies. From a stampede at theaters to Allu Arjun’s arrest and legal notices alleging disrespect toward police, the film has faced multiple hurdles. However, these incidents only seem to have fueled its popularity further.
Fans and trade analysts alike have hailed the film as a landmark achievement in Indian cinema. The Pan-India release has shattered records across languages and markets, living up to its tagline of being more than just a movie – a wildfire.
Despite predictions of intense competition during its run, Pushpa 2 has outperformed rivals by a significant margin. While Baby John and Mufasa saw modest collections, Pushpa 2’s numbers remained robust, proving its unmatched mass appeal and fan following.
With its gripping storyline, electrifying performances, and Allu Arjun’s magnetic screen presence, Pushpa 2 is rewriting box office history while setting the stage for its inevitable OTT release.
