Allu Arjun’s blockbuster Pushpa 2 rebounds with extended scenes, setting sights on breaking Dangal’s lifetime earnings.
January 20, 2025: Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, continues to dominate the box office even on Day 46 of its theatrical run. Following the release of its extended version on January 17, the film witnessed a resurgence, with collections rising by 35.71% on Friday and 15.79% on Saturday.
The extended cut, featuring 20 minutes of unseen footage, was initially slated for January 10 but faced delays due to technical issues. Despite the wait, fans have flocked to theatres to experience this expanded cinematic treat, propelling the movie closer to the coveted title of the highest-grossing Indian film.

Directed by Sukumar, the sequel to 2021’s Pushpa: The Rise is on course to surpass Aamir Khan’s Dangal (2016), which remains the all-time leader with ₹2,000 crore worldwide. Pushpa 2 is currently the second highest-grossing film in Indian cinema.
Worldwide Box Office Performance
As per industry tracker Sacnilk, Pushpa 2: The Rule has amassed a whopping ₹1,731.15 crore gross worldwide by Day 44, with ₹270.50 crore gross from overseas and ₹1,461.15 crore gross from domestic markets. Its domestic net earnings alone stand at ₹1,226.75 crore.

Weekend Earnings
On Sunday, the movie recorded ₹96 lakh net in domestic earnings by 7:50 PM, following Saturday’s ₹1.10 crore net. These figures reflect the film’s sustained popularity even amid stiff competition from new releases.
Records Broken
Pushpa 2 has already shattered numerous records, including becoming the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, the highest-grossing Telugu film, and the highest-grossing Hindi-dubbed film.
With its extended version now driving fresh momentum, Pushpa 2 is poised to rewrite Indian cinema’s record books. Fans and analysts alike are closely watching its trajectory as it edges closer to dethroning Dangal.
