Pushpa 2 Smashes Box Office Records, Becomes Fastest Indian Film to Cross ₹1,000 Crore Globally

Director Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, has become the fastest Indian film to surpass the ₹1,000 crore mark worldwide. This remarkable milestone was achieved in just six and a half days, cementing the movie’s place among the biggest box office successes of all time.

The film has ignited speculation about whether it will eventually dethrone Dangal (₹2,070.3 crore globally) as the highest-grossing Indian film. For now, it has already left behind recent blockbusters like Prabhas’ Kalki 2898 AD and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan.

On its seventh day, Pushpa 2 earned ₹27.71 crore domestically, according to early reports. This brings its total India nett collection to an impressive ₹672.71 crore. While weekday earnings saw a decline of over 50% compared to the weekend, the film still brought in daily revenues that many movies fail to achieve over their entire run.
In the Telugu market, the movie recorded an overall occupancy rate of 23.69%, with morning shows at 18.10% and afternoon shows peaking at 29.27%. In the Hindi market, occupancy was 21.43%, with afternoon shows performing particularly well at 28.44%.
To claim the title of the highest-grossing Indian film, Pushpa 2 will need to overtake these global box office records:
Domestically, Pushpa 2 ranks fourth in India nett collections, following Baahubali 2 (₹1,030.42 crore), KGF: Chapter 2 (₹859.7 crore), and RRR (₹782.2 crore).
In addition to its box office triumph, Pushpa 2 has been celebrated for its stellar performances, Sukumar’s gripping direction, and Devi Sri Prasad’s electrifying music. The soundtrack, with lyrics by Chandrabose, and additional score by Sam CS, has played a significant role in the film’s success.
With key roles played by Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari, Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, and Rao Ramesh, the film’s ensemble cast has also garnered praise.
Having surpassed the lifetime domestic nett collections of Kalki 2898 AD and Jawan, Pushpa 2 now sets its sights on overtaking Indian cinema’s biggest titles. If its current momentum continues, Pushpa 2 may very well redefine box office history, showcasing the unparalleled appeal of Allu Arjun and Telugu cinema on a global stage.
