December 21, 2024: Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule continues its record-smashing run at the box office, surpassing ₹1000 crore globally and showing no signs of slowing down. The sequel to the 2021 blockbuster has already outperformed major hits like Stree 2 and Jawan, cementing its place as one of the biggest successes in Indian cinema history.
As of its 16th day in theaters, Pushpa 2 has amassed ₹1004.35 crore in total earnings, with the Hindi version alone contributing ₹632 crore. The Telugu version follows with ₹297.8 crore, while Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions brought in ₹52.8 crore, ₹7.16 crore, and ₹13.99 crore respectively.

The current box office milestone for Baahubali 2: The Conclusion stands at ₹1040 crore. Industry experts predict that Pushpa 2 is on track to surpass this record within the coming week, especially with the festive season of Christmas and New Year boosting theater attendance.
Despite its dominance, Pushpa 2 faces upcoming challenges from major releases like Varun Dhawan’s Baby John and Disney’s Mufasa: The Lion King. The latter, with Shah Rukh Khan lending his voice to Mufasa and Aryan Khan voicing Simba in the Hindi version, is expected to attract younger audiences and families during the holiday season.
Advance bookings for Pushpa 2 remain robust, particularly in Telugu-speaking regions where superstar Mahesh Babu’s voiceover for Mufasa has created additional excitement. In multiplex chains like PVR, Inox, and Cinepolis, the film sold over 35,000 tickets by Thursday morning, showing consistent demand.
As the box office showdown intensifies, Pushpa 2: The Rule stands tall, not just as a commercial success but as a cinematic phenomenon redefining the benchmarks of Indian cinema.
