Pushpa 2 Team Donates ₹2 Crore to Stampede Victim’s Family
In other news, the team behind Pushpa 2 made a generous contribution to the family of a woman who tragically died in a stampede during the film’s premiere at Sandhya Theatre. Allu Aravind, the producer of the film, announced that the team had donated ₹2 crore to the victim’s family. Of this amount, ₹1 crore was donated by Allu Arjun, ₹50 lakh by Mythri Movie Makers, and ₹50 lakh by director Sukumar. The funds were handed over to Telangana FDC Chairman Dil Raju, following the advice of authorities to ensure proper distribution.
The stampede occurred when a large crowd gathered to attend the film’s premiere, resulting in the unfortunate death of a woman and the hospitalization of her young son in critical condition. Allu Arjun was later arrested in connection with the incident on December 13 but was granted interim bail the following day by the Telangana High Court. Reports suggest that Arjun was unaware of the fatality until after the screening had ended, though Telangana CM Revanth Reddy claimed that Arjun was informed of the death while still watching the film.
Despite the tragedy, Pushpa 2 remains a box-office juggernaut, showcasing the immense popularity of the film and its stars.
