December 4, 2024: The much-awaited sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is shattering records even before its release. With advance bookings already amassing an estimated ₹62.21 crore for the opening day, the film is poised for an earth-shattering start at the box office. Releasing on December 4 in multiple languages, the movie has become a national sensation.
As per reports from Sacnilk.com, the advance booking collections include ₹33 crore from Telugu markets, ₹23.9 crore from the Hindi version, ₹1.63 crore from Tamil, and ₹1.74 crore from Malayalam audiences. Adding blocked seats, the total crosses ₹77.16 crore, setting new benchmarks in Indian cinema.
Trade analysts predict that the sequel could achieve over ₹200 crore during its opening weekend, leveraging an unprecedented release on 80% of screens across India. It has already joined an elite club of films crossing ₹50 crore in gross pre-sales for day one, alongside the highly-anticipated Kalki 2898 AD.
Ticket prices, particularly in Telugu-speaking states, have surged, further boosting the film’s earnings. Trade experts anticipate Pushpa 2 to attract a footfall of over 50-60 lakh viewers on its first day, with a staggering ₹60 crore expected from the Hindi belt alone.
Taran Adarsh, a prominent trade expert, highlighted the film’s momentum, saying, “The advance sales are phenomenal. Despite releasing on a working day, Pushpa 2 is set to deliver a historic box office performance. Pushpa: The Rise created a massive fan base, and the sequel is expected to capitalize on the love and excitement built over the years.”
The first installment, Pushpa: The Rise, released in 2021, was a commercial blockbuster, grossing over ₹300 crores in India and establishing Allu Arjun as a pan-India superstar. The sequel promises to carry forward the legacy and redefine box office records globally.
